TJ Parker Prospect Profile

TJ Parker Prospect Profile

Background

T.J. Parker grew up in Phenix City, Alabama, the son of Army veteran Sgt. Tommy Parker, whose military discipline shaped Parker's approach to the game. He attended Central High School and posted 16.5 tackles for loss and 12 sacks as a senior. A four-star recruit initially committed to Penn State; he decommitted seven weeks later and flipped to Clemson on National Signing Day 2022, drawn by Dabo Swinney's pitch about immediate playing time. As a true freshman in 2023, he shattered Myles Murphy's Clemson true freshman TFL record with 12.5 and earned consensus Freshman All-American honors, then had knee surgery that offseason. Parker responded with 11 sacks and a school-record six forced fumbles in 2024, including a four-sack performance at Pittsburgh that tied the Clemson single-game record. He graduated with a degree in sports communication in December 2025 and married former Clemson volleyball player Azyah Dailey during the team's bye week before declaring for the 2026 NFL Draft tenth on Clemson's all-time sack list.

Physical Attributes

RAS:

That is some very solid testing. On top of that, Parker was one of my standout performers for on-field drills at the combine for EDGEs. I score each drill out of 10, and Parker had the highest average at 8.65. His standout drill was the hoop where he showed just how well he could keep his power through his legs and ankles while bending. Other drills also highlighted his feet and agility, and the tape shows it all, though not as consistently as one might hope.

Data and Tape Analysis

TJ Parker did not build upon his excellent junior year that had analysts putting him inside the top ten players on their big boards. The way some people talk about it though, Parker completely fell off, and that just is not the case. Let's look at his 2024 season compared to his 2025 season.:

It would be reasonable to say then that it was not as big of a fall off as his critics say, and instead did not show the improvement that analysts had thought he could because of his traits.

I will make this quick and easy; those traits are still there, and I do not think anyone at Clemson in 2025 benefitted from development in any actual way.

Parker's play recognition is great, and helps set him up to be in the right position when he needs to be in the run game, and helps him know when to go after the QB. In the run game, I love his pursuit. Parker has a super high motor and is always working to get himself back into the play.

His pass rush plan looks duct-taped together. There are flashes of a great bull rush, speed rush, speed to power, and powerful hands that are tantalizing, to say the least. For now, though, they are just flashes, and he needs to string them together in order to reach his potential in the NFL.

Grade and Outlook

Here I am again, grading another Clemson prospect and having them higher than consensus because of how horrid the entire operation was in "Death Valley" last year. The players who are going to be drafted from Clemson have some genuine talent, but the coaches absolutely wasted it. I believe in Parker's traits and think with real coaching in the NFL, he will reach maybe not the upside once promised, but still a plus-value EDGE.

Grade: 6.2 (Late 1st Rounder / Early 2nd)
