LT Overton Prospect Profile
Background
LT (Lebbeus Thomas) Overton was born in College Station, Texas, and attended Bessemer Academy in Alabama as a freshman before his family moved to Milton, Georgia, where he starred at Milton High School in both football and basketball. His father, Milton Overton, played offensive line at Oklahoma from 1991 to 1994 and later worked in athletic administration at both Alabama and Texas A&M, before today being the AD of Kennesaw State. His brother Micaiah played defensive line at Texas A&M before transferring to Arkansas State. As a sophomore at Milton, Overton posted 70 tackles, 38 TFL, and 21.5 sacks, earning MaxPreps All-American and first-team all-state honors, then reclassified from the class of 2023 to 2022, skipping his senior season to enroll early. He was a unanimous five-star, the No. 3 overall prospect nationally in the class of 2023 before reclassification, and chose Texas A&M over Georgia, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Oregon. Two seasons in College Station produced 48 tackles and one sack across 23 games, and after the death of his position coach Terry Price in June 2023, he entered the transfer portal and committed to Alabama. He became a full-time starter in Tuscaloosa and declared for the 2026 NFL Draft.
Physical Attributes
RAS:

There are rumors of blood clots that kept him out of the SEC Championship and first CFP game against Oklahoma, but then he came back and played in the CFP versus Indiana. I am not sure what to make of all of this, and cannot seem to find any definitive reason this testing would be so poor, especially when he looked solid in the on field drills. On tape, he looks like those drills, slow, but in control and moving efficiently. I'll throw this out there, though:

Data and Tape Analysis
If you are unfamiliar with my EDGE radar charts, you can find more information here

I do not know what to do with this. That is a horrible radar chart. No avoiding it. And the tape did not make me feel much better. Nothing about this radar chart lies, so I do not know how to add onto it.
The only thing to say, is Overton is the most obvious 3-4 hand-down DE, or even should convert to a DT. Overton is not an EDGE at all.
Grade and Outlook
I hate this. I dislike being low on prospects who other people have much, much higher, because I feel like I am missing something. My grade is based entirely on what he could offer as more of a DT style player that someone should convert Overton into. If The Beast by Dane Brugler comes out later this week and flags his medicals as a concern, I reserve the right to change this grade to a 2.4 (a priority undrafted free agent).
Grade: 3.9 (Late 4th Rounder / Early 5th Rounder)
