Background
Jalen Farmer was born in Atlanta and grew up in Covington, Georgia, where he attended Eastside High School and played both guard and defensive tackle for three years, posting 50 tackles and two sacks as a senior while earning Region 8-AAAAA Lineman of the Year and all-state honors. A three-star recruit ranked among the top 35 offensive line prospects nationally by 247Sports, he committed to Florida. Having appeared in only two games as a true freshman in 2022 and redshirting, he then underwent surgery for an upper-body injury that sidelined him until fall camp of 2023, where he took part in just two additional games behind the established starters. He transferred to Kentucky for 2024, returning to a program that had been among his finalists out of high school, and immediately earned the starting right guard job from Week 1. He started all 12 games that season, allowing just one sack. His junior year in 2025 brought another step forward: a team-high 831 snaps and one penalty all season. The team named him a game captain four times. He took part in the Senior Bowl and declared for the 2026 NFL Draft with a year of eligibility remaining.
Physical Attributes

Farmer is an outstanding athlete, but does not show it as often as you want on the field. 37 bench reps highlight just how much natural strength he has, and when he uses it with his long arms, he can push a defender wherever he wants. His base is inconsistent, varying from being made of stone to being made of paper.
Data and Tape Analysis

The 2024 Fernando Mendoza Award goes to Jalen Farmer. For the uninitiated, that award signifies a player who has maybe the best half of football someone at their position has played the entire year, but then immediately follow it up with some of the most inconsistent play you have ever seen after that, in honor of the glorious 1st half Mendoza had at Jordan-Hare.
For Farmer, that is the first half of the Georgia game. He looked like a one-man wrecking crew. It did not matter who lined up across from him; they ended the play 5 yards away from where they wanted to be because of Farmer. On pulls, he detonated CJ Allen (a first or second round pick) and another defender at the same time. Nose tackles looked like middle schoolers. Might as well have called him Gandalf in pass protection, because nothing was going to pass by him. It was INSANE. If it had not been for that tape, I think Farmer would have a grade two rounds lower. It was that good, and the rest was so spotty I really do not want to talk too much about it.
This is a profile, so I must, but it's not good, look at that radar chart. Occasionally he would flash that brilliance again, but most of the time his technique let him down. Poor hand placement, terrible pass-blocking posture, lack of drive in blocks, not using his full speed, terrible IDing, the list goes on.
Grade and Outlook
If Farmer lands on the right team, look out. Of all the linemen I looked at so far in this draft, he has the greatest variance on where he will turn out. I am going to lean higher based on what he flashed (did the same for Mendoza coming into this year) and reserve the right to say I was right either way if he goes to a team with poor development and coaching.
Grade: 5.1 (3rd Rounder)
