Background

Emmanuel Pregnon grew up in Denver, Colorado, and attended Thomas Jefferson High School, where he played as a two-way lineman and walked out an unranked two-star recruit that nobody outside of Wyoming was thinking about. He opted out of the 2020 season because of the COVID-19 pandemic, redshirted in 2021, then earned a starting spot at guard as a redshirt sophomore in 2022, starting 11 games and earned Second-Team Freshman All-American honors from College Football News. In 2023, he moved to USC and played in 12 games for the Trojans, subsequently securing the starting left guard position for all 13 games in 2024. Logging 882 snaps that year without surrendering a single sack while earning Second-Team All-Big Ten. He transferred once more to Oregon for 2025 and turned in the best season of his career, earning First-Team All-American from the AP and The Sporting News and First-Team All-Big Ten as the Ducks went 11-1 and reached the College Football Playoff. Career totals across three schools: 53 games, 51 starts, over 3,100 offensive snaps. He declared for the 2026 NFL Draft.

Physical Attributes

Pregnon is a quick athlete. He reaches top speed in an instant, and it is this explosiveness that allows him to play the way he does. He moves laterally very well and changes direction with ease. Not the biggest guard, he does not lack in the strength department, especially a base built of rock.

Data and Tape Analysis

If you are unfamiliar with my OL radar charts, you can find more information here

Pregnon was an old player last year, playing from October on as a 24-year-old, but still played against P4 competition. Being an older prospect you want to see domination, and this radar chart shows that. Though I am not sure I saw that on the film.

One quirk of Pregnon's play is his base and feet. He keeps his feet super wide, which does not seem to hurt him, but I would imagine that it makes it a lot more difficult for him to drive in the run game with his legs that far apart. Also, he has quick feet, but sometimes is moving so fast he cannot keep his balance. He will cross his feet over each other when dealing with speed. Pregnon sometimes takes so many quick backward steps while getting into a pass set that he gets pushed into the pocket if touched.

I really like his movement skills, though. He bounces around like a pinball on plays, for better or worse. He acts like this with finding defenders:

It works when the block he was on is passed off to one of his teammates, but does not work so well when he does not realize there is anyone left to block the defender. That being said, he uses his speed effectively as a puller and on the move laterally in the run game.

As a one-on-one blocker, Pregnon gets some displacement but not a ton. When working in a double team, he consistently throws people out of the club. The same teamwork is clear in how well connected he stays to the rest of the line. There are few gaps that appear around him and the line mates he is supposed to stay near.

Grade and Outlook

If this profile seems overly nitpicky, it is. We must heavily scrutinize the actions of a 24-year-old against 18-year-olds. Pregnon looks very good most of the time, but those minor flaws combined with an age that would lead you to believe his development curve may have plateaued gives me pause. I think Pregnon can walk in and be an average starter for an NFL team, but I do not have any higher hopes than that.

Grade: 5.8 (Late 2nd Rounder / Early 3rd Rounder)
