Côte d'Azur

Côte d'Azur

I think there's something in the human condition primed to make you fall in love with a place like this.

The motions of life, so hectic, manic at times, slowed to the tune of the waves.

And not in the way many other places are, where you can still find that craziness.

Not here.

It has this soothing rhythm that brings you in like a siren song.

Captivating with its beauty and its protection from the outside world.

The million year fight between the mountains on land and the voracious sea leave this strip of land.

A land that should reflect that battle, but reflects the age more.

The time doesn't pass in days, weeks, or years, it passes in millenia.

The flora does not seem to fight for its spot in the sun.

It seems content to take its place amongst everything else.

The beaches of sand and of rock.

The water of a blueness that seems incomprehensible.

Like you are stealing a color that doesn't exist anywhere else.

That you can only see here.

That you can only live with here.

That you never want to leave.
